Description
Provides both direct and indirect care and is responsible for performing the communications and clerical functions of the Medical/Surgical Unit as well as assisting RNs in the provision of hands on patient care.
Manages the communications center for the department by answering the telephone, as well as using various methods of inter- and intra- departmental communication to disseminate information in a clear and timely manner to physicians and professional personnel.
Reports observation of changes in patient status, vital signs or behavior to the appropriate RN.
Reports and records patient vital signs, intake and output and other observations as appropriate.
Assists in maintaining department documentation for patient charts.
Performs receptionist/greeter functions for all visitors to the department.
Qualifications
Required Licenses
Must have current and valid Wyoming CNA certification
Required Skills
Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association
Work Experience
2+ years as either a CNA, HUC, or Cardiac Monitor/Telemetry Technician PREFERRED
