Dignity Health Medical Foundation established in 1993 is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation with care centers throughout California. Responsibilities
The Orthopedic Technologist - Certified is specially trained in the field of Orthopedics and provides assistance to the Provider in caring for orthopedic patients. Responsibilities include patient assessment, applying casts and splints pursuant to the Provider\'s order, applying orthopedic devices, pre-fabricated orthotics, and traction. Also responsible for documenting patient concerns and care provided in the patient\'s medical record, and other duties as assigned. In addition, if qualified, may be asked to perform Medical Assistant and/ or back office duties as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Meet educational requirements to successfully obtain The National Board Certification of Orthopedic Technologists (NBCOT) Certification - Successful completion of the National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists Certification Examination (OTC). Certification must be maintained for the duration of time within this position - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers (includes AED training) through the American Heart Association (AHA) and maintain BLS Certification while employed - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to take initiative while displaying proper judgment - Ability to work well as part of a team - Ability to articulate descriptions of orthopedics conditions based on understanding anatomical structures and the relationship with one another - General knowledge of anatomy physiology medical terminology fracture healing and complications wound healing and complications principles of aseptic techniques application and use of orthopedic equipment and supplies Preferred Qualifications: - Two or more years of experience in in Orthopedics and/or Podiatry clinic or office performing patient assessments applying casts splints and orthopedic appliances and assisting with direct patient care and in office procedures preferred
Pay Range
$35.09 - $40.32 /hour
