The department provides elective and emergency surgery Monday - Sunday, 24 hours per day. Qualifications

• High school diploma Required
• Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant Program Required
• Must receive certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant Certification (CSA) through the NCCSA, or Certified Surgical First Assistant Certification (CSFA) through the NBSTSA within two years of completing first assistant course Required
• 2 years of relevant experience; Surgical assisting experience Required
• Certified (CST) \xe2\x80\x93 AST Association of Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Preferred
• Certified (CST) \xe2\x80\x93 ABSA American Board of Surgical Assistants Upon Hire Preferred
• Certified (CST) \xe2\x80\x93 NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Upon Hire Preferred
• Certified (CSFA) \xe2\x80\x93 NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 2 years Required Or
• Certified (CSA) \xe2\x80\x93 NCCSA National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants within 2 years Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire Required
• AHA ACLS Adv Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Hire Preferred
