As a Character Art Intern, you will be responsible for producing character artwork for both two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional product applications. If selected, you will work on projects at all levels of complexity with the team while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
What You Will Do:
Development of character illustrations for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties and cross divisions.
Idea generation for Franchise Expansion
Art style/new technique development to co-ordinate with trends in the marketplace
Contribute to new product ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions.
Maintain high character art standards for the region.
Develop a strong character art community across GPC
Understand Disney Characters and Disney storytelling and how it translates to products.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An understanding/working knowledge of graphic design, character art, or merchandise design
An understanding of the principles of cartooning, cartoon animation and character art
Previous exposure and skill in multiple mediums including: sculpting, painting, and drawing
Strong traditional and digital drawing skills and concepting skills.
Proficiency and confidence in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
Please be a fresh and inventive creative thinker with a proven ability to work strongly as part of a team
An understanding and awareness of marketplace trends
Able to present creative concepts in both formal and informal settings.
Education
Current Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Art or Design

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization

The approximate dates of this in person internship are
June 9th 2025- January 3rd 2026
Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Must provide own housing during the internship program in the Orlando area
Must have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $22.00 per hour.
