This position will train at the Kent location until the center is open

SALARY RANGE:

26.85 - 42.25 HOURLY

General Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Director in the day-to-day operations of the Child Care Center in a manner that contributes to the overall growth and development of children ages 8 weeks-5 years. Promotes positive guidance and communication between the Center, the Director, the parents, and the hospital. Responsible for implementing the policies and plans of the Center. Manage staff to ensure the scaffolding of each child's learning and development. Directs work and oversees staff working directly with the children. Acts in the administrative capacity in the absence of the Director.

Responsibilities:

1. Assists in the responsibility of general operations of the Child Care Center, providing direction and supervision of day-to-day operations, and managing the efforts of others.


2. Includes overseeing staff scheduling, tracking staff development and annual hours of continuing education.


3. Assists Director in maintaining compliance with State and NAEYC.


4. Manages Teaching staff in collaboration with the Director. Holds regularly scheduled staff meetings with staff to review progress, goals, and updates.


5. Provides leadership and direction when additional services are needed for children and families.


6. Conducts various assessments and tracks children to support learning, identify special needs, identify trends, and assess children's readiness for advancement to the next group, including Kindergarten.


7. Completes and approves yearly classroom material and supplies inventory, and monthly classroom observations.


8. Maintains confidentiality and security rules when providing information to internal and external sources.


9. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's Degree-Early Childhood Education Credential(s): Delaware Teaching Certificate, Heart saver - Within 60 days, if not already obtained. Experience:

Required:

Six years teaching experience working with Preschool children





Preferred: 4+ years teaching experience with Preschool children in a center or school setting. Plus, experience in supervising staff in a preschool setting

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's Degree- Early Childhood Education Credential(s): + Delaware Teaching Certificate, Heart saver - Within 60 days, if not already obtained.
Experience: Preferred: 4+ years teaching experience with Preschool children in a center or school setting. Plus, experience in supervising staff in a preschool setting
