DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing Alaska Surface Water team in either our Anchorage or Fairbanks offices. The department consists of team members who specialize in flood monitoring, surface water modeling, drainage structure design, and water quality. This position is an entry level position, and we will help you grow and develop your engineering skills through exposure to a variety of water and civil related projects. The Water Resources Civil Associate will perform both office and field-based assignments. An ideal candidate would be able to quickly adjust to different tasks to provide support for multiple projects.Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of Senior Engineers and Project Managers; to design and develop plans, specifications, and estimate for civil projects with a heavy focus on water with the opportunity to support other office disciplines; roadway, aviation, rail, oil & gas.
  • Prepare studies, design analysis, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct field data collection on streams, rivers, and lakes.
  • Maintain a high level of excellence regarding Health, Safety and Environmental for colleagues and our clients.
  • Perform hydraulic modeling using contemporary, industry standard 1D and 2D surface water models.
  • Attend training to develop and maintain skills, attend seminars, review professional publications, and in-house systems/management training
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Have completed a B.S. in Civil Engineering or similar at an accredited university of college
  • Successful completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering exam
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or other civil design software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong degree of self-initiative, and desire to learn and apply engineering skills to develop creative designs that address complex problems
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Experience with ArcGIS a plus

COMPENSATIONThe salary range for this position is $80,000-$110,000.
