Van Houten Consulting and Design provides civil engineering services to both private and public land development projects across North Idaho and Eastern Washington. It is not only imperative we see our clients\xe2\x80\x99 goals of time and budget are met, but also to establish and maintain trusted long-term relationships. We are seeking a full-time civil EIT who can have an immediate impact with a wide array of land development entitlement, design and construction tasks. This means assignments which go beyond the daily repetition of sitting at a desk, putting this member of our team on construction sites and in meeting rooms. The selected candidate will be able to quickly develop to perform these duties independently but will often work in a small team. This individual will be charged with developing and implementing design strategies and creating construction drawings all while growing their project management experience. Qualifications:
Batchelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Civil Engineering
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Accomplished in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
Previous experience at a land development civil engineering firm preferred.
Already possess or be able to quickly achieve a firm understanding of local regulatory codes, ordinances and design standards
Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate with contractors, design professionals, clients and regulatory agencies, with an emphasis on a highly professional, team-centered approach.
Perform drafting and engineering design duties under the supervision of a professional engineer.
Prepare plans, calculations, reports and regulatory documents in accordance with industry standards.
Observe construction activity, collaborate with contractors and regulatory inspectors in the field, manage construction documents.
Quickly achieve a firm understanding of applicable regulatory codes, ordinances and design standards.
