As a Civil or Stormwater Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in Pensacola, Florida or Mobile, Alabama, you will work on complex projects involving innovative projects for a variety of clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directing multi-disciplinary project teams;
  • Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies;
  • Development of grading and civil site work plans;
  • Applying innovative hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, from 1-D to transport models;
  • Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs;
  • Field investigations and construction support services;
  • Developing construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications;
  • Preparing erosion and sediment control designs;
  • Interacting with client representatives;
  • Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
  • Integral part in our client development of local and regional business;
  • Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
  • Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.

Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff mentoring tasks.

Here are some other things you should know about a typical practitioner position with Geosyntec:
  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 30%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 20%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
  • Bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering, or closely related discipline. (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil engineering or closely related discipline. (preferred)
  • Professional Engineer registration or ability to obtain within one year. (preferred)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5 years (6+ years preferred) of research or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Experience with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, Vadose/W, Sigma/W, FLAC, and ARCGIS. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
