Alta is a place filled with motivated and passionate people, that is committed to your career growth and where the focus is on people and the projects.Alta Science & Engineering, Inc. seeks qualified candidates for an entry level Project Engineer position based out of any of Altas offices (Moscow, Kellogg or Boise, Idaho). The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, personable, and detail oriented who can work well on a team and independently. This is a Regular Full-Time (40 hrs/wk) benefited position.Responsibilities May Include:

• Collaborate with engineering team with planning, pre-design, and design of various types of civil projects including low volume and rural roads, parking lot and city streets, sidewalks and bike paths, small bridges and culverts.
• Prepare project deliverables such as technical reports, memoranda, design reports, construction drawings, bid packages and construction completion reports.
• Perform independent design activities such as sketching details, sizing culverts and rip rap, developing asphalt and concrete mix designs, and reviewing geotechnical reports.
• Prepare cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical specifications and review similar work of peers.
• Provide construction support and oversight including contract administration, inspection, submittal review of designs by others for conformance to design standards.
• Perform job functions under immediate supervision of Professional Engineer to provide needed experience to be eligible for professional licensure.
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism during interactions with Alta staff, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Manage multiple project deadlines and prioritize work on various projects simultaneously.
• Provide timely communication with supervisor regarding work-related matters.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in civil, environmental, or other relevant engineering degree from an accredited university
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and hold an Engineering Intern or Engineer-in-Training certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment)
• Have 0 - 5 years of related engineering experience
• Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills including technical writing
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Valid drivers license with insurable driving record

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience drafting civil projects in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with geotechnical testing or laboratory work.
• Prior work experience in civil, structural, or environmental consulting, including internships

Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000 per year (Depending on experience)Potential office locations
