Job Summary




The

Claims Specialist II

is responsible for processing the daily functions for claims filing as well as the timely processing and accurate analysis of claims for all default triggered loans, to minimize risk and loss exposure to the company and its investors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Reviews, analyzes, and ensures timely settlement of all claim types, manages claims to determine status and bring to closure. Adheres to claim filing timelines and manages workload to meet all required deadlines. Reviews, reports, and resolves any suspended claims. (Claims includes: FHA, VA, USDA, Freddie, Fannie and MI Claims. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of claim filing systems including but not limited to FHA connection, YARDI P.260, FHA catalyst, Loansphere Claims and CMAX Ensures compliance with all related company policies and procedures as well as legislative, regulatory, and default reporting requirements for processing actions. Acts as liaison between the Company, vendor partners, and agencies in providing required loan information for claims, obtaining clarity on servicing guidelines, and resolving any issues. Provides additional guidance and support for claims staff on any agency, GSE or investor rules and regulations Ensures accurate application of all mitigation claim funds received and reviews for any applicable appeals or supplementals. Resolves and submits appeals for agency and GSE demands. Collaborates with Quality Assurance as a second-tier review for accurate claim submissions Ability to handle HUD Reconveyance Reacquisition Resolution and HUD supplemental claim processing Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

Position Requirements




Education

High school diploma or equivalent required Some college is desired
Experience

Minimum of at least three years of default mortgage servicing experience Minimum of at least three claims default servicing Previous experience with FHA, VA, USDA, FHLMC, FNMA or MI claims experience preferred

Functional/Technical Skills

Knowledge of mortgage banking practices and procedures including familiarity with FHMLC, FNMA, VA, FHA and GNMA guidelines, timeframes. Ability to file multiple types of agency, GSE and investor claims. Working knowledge of Default Servicing procedures Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong mathematical skills Strong attention to detail Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively Must be flexible, organized and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment Ability to problem-solve effectively High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook. LPS servicing system experience preferred
