Job Description


The Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing is recruiting a Clerk-Specialist to serve as the Licensing Assistant for the Food Safety Bureau. This position will manage license application processes for food, lodging and social and charitable gambling and will serve as a primary contact for applicants and the general public.We are looking for a skilled and motivated clerk specialist who will assist in the daily operations of the Bureau.Under direct supervision, the Licensing Assistant will:

  • Review documents for accuracy and further process or reject based upon requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from applicants, licensees and the public.
  • Manage the license application processes and maintain records.
  • Provide non-technical regulatory information and assistance to the public and regulated entities via written and oral communication.
  • Refers to subject matter experts or agencies as appropriate.
This position is located at 6200 Park, Des Moines, Iowa 50321
Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.What We Offer
