Job Summary and Qualifications

What will you do in this role:

• Manage department staff through direction provided by director. Ensure staff has proper orientation and documented competencies and assist in hiring qualified personnel according to PMC mission and vision, unit goals, scope of services and fiscal resources.
• Supervises co-workers and ancillary staff as appropriate.
• Manage all direct and indirect nursing care given to patients within the department to ensure optimal patient care.
• Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with all members of the health care team, patients, families and other customers.
• Promotes and monitors department safety. Compiles statistical information as directed, ensures the department maintains required safety and regulatory documentation.
• Serve as professional role model. Resolves conflicts in a constructive manner. Accepts and responds to change in workload and assists in problem solving and in the implementation of new policies/procedures as requested.
• Actively participates in hospital and community activities to enhance the visibility and role of the professional nurse. Contributes to the recruitment of staff.

What qualifications you will need:

• BLS certification required.
• New Hampshire Registered Nurse license or active Compact State RN license
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Oncology related nursing experience as well as 2 years of previous charge nurse/supervisory experience required
• Associate RN Degree required, BSN preferred.
