Clinician - FT, Hurricane

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Performs a variety of professional clinical and outpatient psychotherapy duties related to providing mental health/substance abuse program services to individuals, groups, and families. May also conduct educational services to individuals, groups, or organizations.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general guidance and direction of an assigned Program Manager or Team Leader.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

May provide close supervision to entry level Counselor and Counselor graduate students during assigned or orientation periods.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

1. Exemplifies the organizational values of Performance, Innovation, and Excellence.

2. Completes evaluations, risk assessments, and safety plans within a brief period of time to determine appropriateness for treatment and makes recommendations for continued services. Accurately assigns and records diagnoses.

3. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team (nurses, peer and human support specialists, etc.) to facilitate crisis stabilization and community resources for recovery support.

4. Participates with team members weekly to review and approve treatment recommendations and ASAM levels (SA) for new clients, making recommendations for improving treatment plans and helping to assure the quality of treatment and record keeping within the team.

5. Coordinates services and communication with formal, informal and natural supports, such as partner agencies, organizations, support groups and family members to assure that all available and necessary resources are accessed to aid in each client\'s recovery. (When documenting coordinating activities as Targeted Case Management, it is assured that that the TCM criteria of either Assessing TCM needs, Coordinating and Linking to services or Monitoring the progress on TCM objectives are met.)

6. Participates, as directed, in team meetings to give verbal reports on designated clients, including progress, attitude, attendance, and/or problems in treatment.

7. Provides Individual and Family therapy as required.

8. Facilitates or co-facilitates treatment groups, such as psychotherapy groups, behavior management groups, skills development groups and education groups for clients and family members.

9. When requested, provides training and consultation services to individuals, groups, families, and organizations.

10. When assigned, performs crisis services, both during the work day, and after hours.

11. Completes all necessary paperwork/documentation including Assessments (ASI, ASAM, Narrative Summaries, etc.), Treatment Plans, Safety Plans, Progress notes, Discharge notes, correspondence, and other required documentation in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner according to Center mandates.

12. Utilizes outcome measures with clients, including but not limited to those required by state or payer contracts. Wherever possible, reviews outcome measurement results with clients whenever they are administered.

13. Maintains standard of productivity as established by supervisor.

14. Effectively manages assigned caseloads so that client needs, defined in the client\'s IRPs, are being met and all other clinical duties are also met.

15. Provides clinical supervision to co-workers when assigned.

16. Serves as a resource for colleagues, providing mentoring and consultation by being available to answer treatment questions and meeting with colleagues (and possibly clients) to solve problems.

17. Completes all required training, including E-learning assignments within assigned timeframes. Maintains clinical license and CEU requirements.

18. Implements, to fidelity, those evidenced-based practices designated by the Center and the supervisor.

19. When assigned, may perform specialized assignments, such as; commitment evaluations, Pre-Assessment Screen Residential Reviews (PASRR), court hearings and jail evaluations.

20. Participates in peer reviews of assigned cases; reviewing documentation and participating in peer review meetings to help identify strengths and opportunities for improvement within the team and the center.

21. Coordinates with supervisor regarding issues and problems that interfere with assignments, goals, treatment plans, and projects.

22. Manages work time effectively.

23. Returns phone calls, emails and other correspondence with clients, coworkers, supervisors and others in a timely and professional way.

24. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from a college or university with a Master\'s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, or Professional Counseling.

2. Experience working in a crisis setting preferred.

License and Certifications

1. License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), or Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), in the State of Utah.

OR

2. Under-licensed as a CSW, MFT Associate, CMHC Associate and will obtain full licensure within 2 years of hire.

AND

3. A Valid motor vehicle driver\'s license (equivalent to State of Utah Class D)

4. Able to pass a background check (BCI)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A. A thorough knowledge and application of

\xc2\xb7 normal and abnormal psychology

\xc2\xb7 evaluation processes

\xc2\xb7 diagnostic classifications in DSM-IV;

\xc2\xb7 psychotherapy and counseling processes, techniques, and methods.\\

\xc2\xb7 Outcome informed treatment

B. A working knowledge of

\xc2\xb7 substance abuse or mental health treatment philosophy and treatment modalities

\xc2\xb7 mental health and substance abuse programs

\xc2\xb7 case management services

\xc2\xb7 community and regional resources available to clients

\xc2\xb7 appropriate referral procedures for obtaining these services

\xc2\xb7 treatment involving psychotropic medications

\xc2\xb7 the application of evidenced-based practices, such as:

a. Motivational Interviewing

b. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

c. Dialectal Behavior Therapy

d. Client Centered Treatment Planning

C. Ability to

\xc2\xb7 learn and follow new, proven treatment protocols

\xc2\xb7 develop effective professional working relationships with executives, supervisors, co-workers, clients, other professionals, and the public

\xc2\xb7 instruct or supervise a professional staff

\xc2\xb7 effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

D. Skilled in

\xc2\xb7 establishing priorities, working independently and proceeding with objectives without direct supervision when appropriate

\xc2\xb7 creatively handling and resolving problems

\xc2\xb7 time management practices encompassing all job duties, such as scheduled appointments, meeting obligations and paperwork

\xc2\xb7 conflict resolution

E. Must be proficient in use of computer and have keyboarding skills in order to enter and retrieve client\'s electronic records. General knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft office software, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are preferred.

4. Special Qualifications:

A. Must possess and maintain a valid Utah drivers\' license;

B. CPR and First Aid Certification (secure within 6 months and upon expiration)

C. Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (within 6 months and annually thereafter)
