Overview:

Oversees unique asset properties to ensure the Bank is managing these properties in accordance with the function of the asset and in line with the terms of the trust agreement. The Unique Assets Officer will provide technical, function and operation expertise to the Unique Assets team in the oversight of these properties.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight of closely held business assets that are held in fiduciary accounts where the Bank is acting as trustee or another similar, capacity
• Oversee and monitor activities of closely held business asset, including but not limited to monitoring of receipts made by the LLC or LP, oversight of allocations made from the LLC or LP so that they are allocated property between trust principal and trust income, oversight of the governing agreement, monitoring of capital calls and other similar receipts from the LLC or LP
• Perform regular assessments of the closely held business asset to ensure the Bank is properly managing it in accordance with the terms of the LLC, LP
• Coordinate the inclusion of these assets into investment reviews the Bank performs for accounts that hold these assets
• Provide planning, leadership and problem resolution for the team
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
• Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.

Direct supervision of a team of up to 5 professionals

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and a minimum of five years of experience at a bank or another similar financial institution, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years\xe2\x80\x99 higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 bank or financial services experience

Minimum of two years work leadership, supervisory or managerial experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

Advanced degree

Minimum of 8 years work experience at a bank or a another similar financial institution
