Job Description

Summary: Provides basic nursing care to patients under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Coordinates care with other disciplines. This position serves adult, geriatric and pediatric populations.Qualifications:

• Current Montana CNA Certificate required.
• Current Heartsaver AED required.
• Acute Care experience preferred.
• Must possess professional communication skills, and work effectively with a diverse customer and coworker population. Must employ tact, diplomacy and compassion with all types of people.
• Must use good judgment, apply a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times. Understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to HIPAA guidelines.

Job Duties:

• *Delivers basic patient care under the guidance and direction of the RN/LPNs on the unit to safely meet the needs of the patient(s).
• *Communicates with the RN/LPN in an effort to coordinate workloads and patient priorities.
• *Performs accurate CNA assessment while taking patientxe2x80x99s vital signs. Informs the RN/LPN assigned to the patient of any abnormal vital signs and/or changes in the patientxe2x80x99s condition.
• *Maintains patient privacy as defined by KRMC policies and procedures.
• *Assists patient with activities of daily living such as ambulation, transferring to a chair, eating, grooming, etc. Monitors patientsxe2x80x99 activity to prevent them from harm.
• *Documents in a timely and efficient manner the care rendered to the patient as defined by KRMC policy and procedures.
• *Assists the RN/LPN in maintaining unit function by restocking of rooms and supply areas.
• *Maintains equipment in patient care rooms for safety and cleanliness.
• *Assists the RN/LPN with maintaining compliance with Medicare and all applicable regulatory standards.
• *Works with the RN/LPNs to set and maintain priorities for patient care tasks.
• *Adheres to and upholds all organizational customer service policies and standards while caring for patients, their families and interacting with co-workers and physicians.
