Job Description

Work under the general direction of the Cell/Program Manager or designee and is responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing plans and processes for new programs, and support of current manufacturing programs to achieve cost reductions, improved quality and an efficient delivery schedules.

Responsibilities:

Create accurate CNC programs, using applicable tools, which support cell manufacturing techniques and standards. Assist cell leadership in the troubleshooting of machining issues and offer advice on best machining practices. Coordinate CNC Master file and regulate the information flow to the shop floor. Plan and design manufacturing processes in a high rate of production environment. Prepare specifications of production operations and write work instructions; define tooling specifications for tool fabrication. Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals in accordance with product specifications. Interface effectively with customers in the resolution of production concerns or other issues related to producibility, cost and schedule. Assist in the development of technical portions of new business proposals, including selection of manufacturing methods and production processes with estimated costs to implement. Perform make vs buy analyses and provide related recommendations to management. Must concentrate mental and visual attention closely on work for sustained periods. Will have immediate leadership supervision over a project team where most of the time is spent assigning, reviewing, checking work and eliminating ordinary difficulties. May provide technical guidance to 2 to 10 people when leading a project or team..

Qualifications:

Experience: Broad knowledge of mechanical, industrial or automation engineering. Fluent oral and written communication skills as well as good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation application software needed. Familiarity with MRP systems and ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and bills of material necessary. 5-10 years of CNC programming experience. Education: 7-10 years of manufacturing work experience in a manufacturing environment, with focus on the CNC Machining field

WHERE REQUIRED TO ACCESS DOD CLASSIFIED INFORMATION, MUST BE QUALIFIED FOR APPROPRIATE SECURITY CLEARANCE. MAINTAIN AREA IN A CLEAN AND ORDERLY CONDITION. PERFORM SIMILAR AND OTHER RELATED DUTIES, AS REQUIRED.
