Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is currently seeking a highly skilled and certified Medical Coder III to join our Health Information Management team. As a Medical Coder III, you will assume the responsibilities of both Coder I and Coder II, accurately assigning diagnosis and CPT codes with utmost precision.

In this role, you will meticulously review and analyze medical records of current admissions to identify all documented diagnoses and procedures. Your expertise will be utilized to determine and assign the principal and significant secondary ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT codes. Additionally, you will proactively identify cases with clinical indicators that may necessitate clarification of provider documentation or validation of specificity, leading to effective physician query workflows.

To excel in this position, familiarity with Emergency Department coding and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology will be beneficial. Successful candidates will possess the Coding Certificate AAPC or AHIMA.
