Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical records, ensuring compliance with coding standards, and maintaining the integrity of our billing processes. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our medical office operations by verifying the accuracy of documentation and coding practices.

Duties

Conduct thorough audits of medical records to ensure compliance with ICD-9 coding standards and other relevant regulations. Review medical billing processes to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Analyze data related to Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) to ensure proper coding and billing practices. Collaborate with medical office staff to provide training on coding best practices and documentation requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and industry regulations. Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to medical collection and record management. Prepare detailed reports summarizing audit findings and present recommendations for improvement.

Experience

Proven experience in medical coding, billing, or auditing within a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9 codes, DRG systems, and medical records management is essential. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in audits. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $53,448.00 - $81,000.00 per year
