Location: Springdale, UtahPOWDR is an adventure lifestyle company that inspires every human being with cool experiences in awesome places. Bachelor in Oregon, Snowbird in Utah and SilverStar Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada. Included in the POWDR portfolio, is Stovepipe Wells located in Death Valley National Park, operated under a long-term concessions contract with the National Park Service.Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go caf\xc3\xa9, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening.Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.Job Summary:The Commissary/Employee Dining Room Prep Cook 3 is an experienced cook responsible for preparing and maintaining the daily meal service for lodge staff, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality meals are served to employees in the commissary and maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards. The Prep Cook 3 will work closely with the Executive Chef and Kitchen Supervisor to maintain efficiency, food quality, and consistency in the employee dining area.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for staff members, ensuring meals are served on time and in line with daily menus approved by the Executive Chef.Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.Assist in planning and developing menu items for employee meals, incorporating feedback and dietary needs as required.Ensure that meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and appealing for a diverse staff.Maintain a clean and organized commissary kitchen, adhering to food safety standards and health regulations.Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to minimize food waste.Sanitize workstations and equipment, ensuring the kitchen remains clean and safe throughout each shift.Monitor temperature controls for food storage and prepared dishes to ensure compliance with health regulations.Assist in receiving, inspecting, and stocking food supplies for the commissary kitchen.Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages to the Executive Chef to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.Help reduce food waste by following proper portioning and storage procedures.Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop menus, troubleshoot issues, and improve the quality of meals served.Collaborate with other cooks, kitchen staff, and dishwashers to ensure a smooth and efficient meal service.Assist with training and mentoring less experienced kitchen staff as needed.Maintain high standards of kitchen organization and cleanliness to promote efficiency and timely meal preparation.Assist with catering for special staff events or providing additional meals if required.Report any kitchen equipment issues to the Executive Chef for timely repairs or maintenance.Other Duties as Assigned:This job description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities for this job and is not intended to be an inclusive list of job tasks and expectations. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.Ability to requirements and compliance with our concessions contract.Ability to get along well with people, be honest, punctual and reliable.Ability to remain calm and friendly.Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.Must be over the age of 18 years oldMinimum of 3 years of experience in food preparation, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations.Familiarity with large-scale cooking, especially in a commissary or employee dining setting.Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.Food handler\xe2\x80\x99s certification or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.ESQ and Play Forever Responsibilities and Requirements:Understand and follow all ESQ procedures that relate to your job duties.Work with a \xe2\x80\x9csafety-first\xe2\x80\x9d attitude.Minimize your impact on the environment when at work and living onsite.Treat our customers, co-workers, leadership teams, all internal guests with respect and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available in the Employee Handbook).Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE.
