Job Description


WC Smith has an exciting opportunity for a Community Manager to join Jetu Apartments, located in the Carver Lanston neighborhood of Washington, DC. A successful Community Manager will maintain a high level of customer service and have excellent communication skills. As Community Manager, you will have significant interaction with residents and prospective residents on a regular basis.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures rent collection, records/posts to resident accounts, follows up on delinquent rents and deposits cash receipts in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with corporate accounting to reconcile accounts.
  • Communicates effectively with residents.
  • Communicates effectively with manager, employees, and vendors.
  • Oversees leasing, maintenance, and housekeeping personnel to achieve corporate and community goals.
  • Oversees all work performed by contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to fair housing and equal employment at all times.
  • Performs regular property inspections to ensure that property is maintained at all times in a manner consistent with WC Smith standards.
  • Collaborate with the Property Manager to offer engaging and varied activities and events for residents.
  • Weekend and evening availability as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3-5 years of progressive Property Management experience.
  • Outstanding customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High degree of energy and motivation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel software).
  • Experience with Yardi.
  • Knowledge of DC Rent Control preferred.
  • Experience in Washington DC Landlord and Tenant Courts preferred.
