Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To assist the Community Support Program (CSP) Coordinator in providing outreach, case management, psycho-social development, vocational rehabilitation, and other supportive services to consumers in Bristol Bay diagnosed with a severe mental illness.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelors degree in the area of Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, or other human services field required. Upon hire must begin progress to become eligible for Division of Behavioral Health Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) certification. QAP certification is required within three (3) years of hire. Prefer two (2) years of experience working in the mental health field, preferably with severely mentally ill clients. Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in their assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g., pediatric/adult/geriatric). Possess core clinical skills that allow one to establish rapport with the client and their family members if needed. Must have and maintain an Alaska driver's license and the ability to operate company vehicles for daily job duties. * Cultural knowledge of Native Alaskans/American Indians preferred.
