Your Role: As a Complex Litigation Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert for auto and homeowner litigated and non-litigated coverage and extra-contractual claims. You will have the responsible for analyzing, researching, advising on and ultimate resolution of complex coverage and extra-contractual claims in all states. As well as reporting on and recommend changes to CSAA IG policies and coverage for all product lines in all states.

Your work:

Review, analyze, research and is responsible for resolution of complex litigated and non-litigated coverage and extra-contractual claim matters on all product lines in all states.

Provide direction and advise to casualty and homeowner personnel related to complex/large coverage matters.

Complex Litigation Specialists do not adjust, assess or issue payment on claims.

Acts as department liaison and Subject Matter Expert on coverage /product matters for special project efforts related to claims, product and various other workgroups.

Monitors and reports to Claims management and larger Claims organization on trends and case law changes as related to coverage matters and state laws (all states and all products).

Develops and delivers product/coverage training to other departments and regions.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

8+ years Claims experience, with 5+ years experience handling complex casualty and/or homeowner claims.

Knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations.

Litigation experience.

Proficient knowledge and understanding of all personal lines products and claim handling procedures in all states, including thorough knowledge of homeowner and casualty claims handling.

Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people (attorneys, mediators, claims personnel, insureds).

Solid organizational and time management skills.

Strong detail-orientation and skill for accuracy.

Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to make high-risk, high-impact decisions and be accountable for results of decisions.

Ability to evaluate and interpret complex policy language, statutory requirements, various state laws and legal analyses.

Minimum 3 years Litigation experience

CPCU designation

Bachelor\'s degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings

The national average salary range for this position is $99,00-$110,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full [salary range] [hourly rate range] for this position across all the states we hire in is $89,000-$132,000. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 10% of eligible pay.
