Job Description


The Division of Liquor Control supports Ohioxe2x80x99s economy by providing funding for job creation and business development through the proceeds from Ohioxe2x80x99s liquor industry. The division ensures Ohioans have access to the products they want by overseeing the manufacture, distribution and sale of all alcoholic beverages, selling spirituous liquor through contract liquor agencies and registering products for sale. The division promotes the responsible consumption of alcohol by educating the public, and ensuring that businesses are informed and trained on their responsibilities not to sell to underage or intoxicated individuals.This position is based out of Warren County, OH, with accompanying work in contiguous counties. The headquarter location is the candidates home and the selected candidate must line in or in a contiguous county of Warren county.What You'll Do:

  • Conducts Inspections of liquor permit premises
  • Conducts investigations into complaints / allegations of DOLC violations
  • Interacts with permit applicants, government agencies, and general public
  • Prepares written reports
  • Issues violation and corrective actions against liquor permit holders
  • Testifies at commission hearings
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires overnight travel; works in adverse weather conditions; exposed to physical harm; works alone in high crime areas; may be exposed to vicious guard animals; conducts inspections at construction sites; may be exposed to uncooperative, irate, armed, intoxicated &/or hostile individuals.Qualifications30 mos. trg. or exp. in investigative techniques & procedures; 12 mos. exp. in business office software programs (Microsoft Office); valid driverxe2x80x99s license.-Or completion of associate core program in law enforcement, criminal justice or in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 mos. exp. in investigative techniques & procedures; 12 mos. exp. in business office software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office); valid driverxe2x80x99s license.Job Skills: Compliance Enforcement
