Description

Ascentist Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled, patient-centric Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our burgeoning radiology department. This full-time, Monday through Friday position is perfect for someone who is a self-starter, proactive, detail oriented and can work flexible day shift hours.

The ideal candidate for this role is responsible, dependable and trustworthy, has an experienced skillset with ARRT certification and licensure with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, displays a professional appearance, communicates instructions clearly to patients, regards the patient experience as a top priority, and has proven leadership experience.

Key responsibilities including providing exceptionally skilled imaging for our patients while enjoying our state-of-the-art facility and scanning equipment. As a CT Technologist, you\'ll be responsbile for providing excellent, high-quality scans of anatomy from the head to the feet, plus these essential functions:
  • Discern imaging protocols for maximum clarity and results.
  • Adequately explain the entire procedure to patients including potential sensations or reactions to contrast.
  • Administer IV contrast when applicable and monitor the patient for reactions.
  • Keep inventory of CT scan supplies and make orders for supply restocks as required.
  • Record daily QA/QC results for compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Access the EMR for pertinent information and recording.
  • Liaison with the radiologist and/or ordering physician for exam protocols.
  • Clean and maintain CT scan equipment and scan room.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry developments and scanner improvements.
  • Train and develop additional technologists as the department expands.
  • Assist with x-ray examinations during open times.
  • Maintains a clean, professional, personal appearance and hygiene; socially appropriate with patients and staff.
Qualfied canddiates will have earned an Associate\'s degree in radiologic technology or higher from an accredited school, possess licensure from the KSBHA licensure, is ARRT registered in Computed Tomography, and has a minimum of 3 years experience in a hospital radiology environment. Other qualifications include:
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Able to effectively assist with ambulating patients of various weights and sizes
Candidates with management experience and/or a CPR/BLS certification are preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation and repetitive motions; Category 1-Occupational exposure.
Physical Demands:
  • Physical demands typical for radiologic technologist occupation.
  • Full range of body motion including crouching, stooping, reaching, bending, twisting, handling and lifting patients.
  • Frequently lift, pull and push the weight of the average patient with assistance of one other person up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual and finger dexterity; hand eye coordination; standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
