The Construction Management group is part of Commercial Bank Operations at JPMorgan Chase and services construction loans with business owners, investors and developers of commercial, and multi-family properties.

In this role as a Construction Administrator you will be focused full-time on managing and controlling the integrity and risk of real estate loans within the portfolio. Your hands on experience in construction and working on construction projects is the core of their value to our group.

You will be responsible for ordering, analyzing, reporting and escalating any issues that may impact the property during the term of the loan on third party reports like Property Condition Assessments, Probable Maximum Loss Reports, and Structural Reports among others is capable of interpreting the problems and analyzing the proper resolution. You will also partner with customers, bankers, design professionals, third party consultants and agencies as well as multiple lines of business across the Bank which could include Commercial Banking, Retail Banking and Asset Management. You will be able to utilize your knowledge of construction materials and methods, standard construction practices, and building codes on commercial, multi-family, and residential construction loans. Project types may include a mix of both ground-up and renovation of multifamily, manufacturing, office buildings, warehouses, healthcare, churches, schools, and many more.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement construction risk policies and procedures for specific Lines of Business, as well as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac servicing requirements
  • Guides lenders and special asset officers at all seniority levels on the risks associated with construction issues and the best practices in monitoring and mitigating those risks in the context of a complex loan transaction
  • Provides quality control checks on work performed.
  • Potentially attend portfolio and pipeline conference calls with Lines of Business
  • Resolve matters escalated to them regarding construction and problems related to construction
  • Oversee compliance and regulatory initiatives and audits associated with their group
  • Determine efficiencies within the business and sponsor productivity and quality efforts
  • Prioritize and lead/participate in constant stream of projects required of the business
  • Participate in business review process and business resiliency efforts
  • Determine and execute strategies to enhance employee recognition and satisfaction
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in architecture, engineering or building construction
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Principal component analysis and servicing requirements is essential
  • Knowledge of real estate construction loans for a national lending organization to include solid understanding of loan structures or lending methods is strongly preferred
  • Five or more years\' experience in construction or building design related fields or working as an owner\'s representative
  • Prefer at least 5 years experience working in the field on construction project(s), preferably in roles like field engineer, estimator, office engineer, project engineer, superintendent, or project manager
  • (or) Five or more years of experience as a construction lender consultant
  • Five or more years\' experience with a lender or lender\'s inspector inspecting properties for Property Condition Assessments
  • Advanced experience with complex Excel spreadsheets
  • Possess significant experience with construction practices, contractor pay applications, project scheduling and monitoring commercial, multi-family, and single family residential real estate
  • Experience in construction cost estimating, architectural/engineering design services, real estate finance and financial construction risk administration is preferred
  • Experience in giving presentations on findings for projects
