Primary responsibilities include providing technical expertise and supporting CMT staff both within a branch and within a region
Responsibilities also include performing the following at both the office and regional level:
Overseeing projects
Performing technical report reviews
Preparing proposals
Assisting with management of department and P&L
Business development and assisting other staff in marketing our services by maintaining and developing client relationships
Leading and coaching staff members
Responsibilities may also include:
Mentoring Associate Principals and other professional staff
Participating in the review committee for candidates who see Associate Principal designation
What We\'re Looking For
Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering preferred. Four additional years of experience (for 12 years total experience) may be considered in lieu of education
A minimum of 12 years relevant professional experience
Professional Engineer (P. E.) or in lieu of P. E., Materials Testing Principals must hold both of the following:
At lesat one active master-level certification such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Building Operator (CBO), Master Special Inspector (MSI), or Master Code Professional (MCP)
And at least three active advanced certifications such as Post Tension Inspector Level II (PTI), ACI Concrete Anchor Installation Inspection, ACI Non-Destructive Testing, ACI Shotcrete Inspection, Federal- or State - level GQ Certification, NICET Level IV in Asphalt, Concrete, Soils, Highway Construction, or ICC Certified Building Official. State-specific certification such as advanced DOT may be considered depending on jurisdiction.
Achieved designation as Associate Principal or met the requirements via Board of Directors Exception
Demonstrate technical competence, leadership, safety, and professionalism
Excellent performance history in project management, communication, risk management, and technical knowledge. Business development skills
Practical experience in conducting laboratory testing, construction observation, field quality assurance testing, site grading, and supervising construction materials testing
Ability to provide final technical review for reports in area of expertise, including all supporting calculations
Knowledge of and established relationships in the local market preferred
Professional training programs as required in the ECS Senior Technical Staff Policies and Procedures
Associate Principals shall author a technical paper and a corresponding presentation prior to submission
for Principal
