JOB DESCRIPTION

As a member of the Constantine Builder team, the Superintendent is responsible for management of all aspects of field operations to ensure the assigned project(s) remain on schedule, within budget, and uphold our commitment to excellence. The Superintendent is expected to execute daily site-specific related activities required for a successful project completion, maintaining safety and quality standards, proactively problem-solving, and facilitating communication between key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have great organizational skills and be an exceptional communicator. The Superintendent is responsible for managing the schedule, budget, quality, safety, and relationships of assigned projects simultaneously in partnership with Project Managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Project Managers to develop and monitor the site-specific safety plan. Ensure subcontractors meet safety obligations to provide a safe project site. Lead by example and emphasize a priority on safety.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating to promote effective teamwork and foster good interpersonal relationships. Develop excellent relationships with owners, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and suppliers, serving as the primary face of the company at the construction site(s).
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with the project s building officials and inspectors and schedule all required jurisdictional inspections and testing. Coordinate and supervise all required utility work.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and motivate project team members on a proactive basis to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Facilitate pre-construction meetings, site visits, and subcontractor/team meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Resolve problems throughout the project life cycle; identifying problems before they escalate through procedural understanding and best practices. Keep Project Managers informed of any deviations from original budget.
  • Conduct daily site checks to monitor progress and quality standards, taking full responsibility from start to finish.
  • Prepare daily reports, and all other regular and special documentation necessary, including maintaining progress photos.
  • Maintain an organized jobsite including trailer, signage, material staging, vehicle access, and temporary utility access. Oversee an orderly system for maintaining project plans, communication, correspondence, and subcontracts. Rectify any job site hazards immediately.
  • Maintain an up-to-date set of as-built project plans and ensure completion of as-builts by subcontractors.
  • Review project punch list and oversee completion of all project disciplines necessary to receive a certificate of occupancy.
  • Display excellent follow-up and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience In Commercial Construction as a Site Superintendent supervising construction projects of increasing complexity.
  • Function effectively as a part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have a strong sense of ownership of each job and excellent management skills.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Collaborative, resourceful, and positive attitude.
Preferred:
  • Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Building Science, or Civil Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
  • Estimating experience desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Certification of OSHA 10 and OSHA 30
  • Ground up experience with Multi-Family or Assisted Living construction
