Position Available: Controller

Char Bar 7 is a growing upscale neighborhood restaurant and bar concept headquartered in Charlotte, NC. We currently have 6 locations - 5 in North Carolina and 1 in Alabama.

Goldies Live Music is a restaurant and bar delivering Live Music daily to the LoSo area of Charlotte.

This position has the potential for professional growth as our brands grow ultimately leading to the needs of C-suite roles in the future. Our Controller will operate primarily in our south Charlotte office with the possibility to work 1 to 2 days from home each week.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a high energy, high-performing individual to join our team. You will be responsible for the accounting operations of both brands, to include the production of periodic financial reports, and maintaining a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and maximize earnings potential while ensuring that reported results comply with GAAP.

This is a full-time position (Mon-Fri)

Key Responsibilities:

Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting functions for both Char Bar 7 and Goldies Live Music * Managing the accumulation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results

• Ensure prompt monthly close process with all accounts reconciled
• Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements
• Monitor cash and perform cash flow forecasts
• Coordinating activities of external accountants and auditors
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Managing the store level and corporate budgeting process
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
• Daily interactions with store level leadership. Drive inventory controls and cost controls.
• Ensure all state sales tax filings are made in a timely manner
• Determine accounting needs for the future and hire, train and manage future staff
• Maintain and monitor business performance metrics
• Manage payroll, prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual filings and reports to federal, states, and local governments as needed including W2/W3s, 1096/1099.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in accounting or finance * CPA License - Desired but not required

• Experience in the hospitality industry a plus
• Minimum 5 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping field
• Minimum 5 years experience with QuickBooks, Restaurant 365, MAS 90, SAGE 100 or similar accounting programs

Excellent communication skills along with the desire to provide the highest level of support to our store leaders and executive team * Ability to work independently in a small office environment

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications
• Self and self-sufficient individual
• Ability to present financial results to the partners and store level leadership.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 annually
