Currently we are looking for a Controller to join our Grand Rapids office and support our clients, co-workers, and core principles \xe2\x80\x93 \xe2\x80\x9cunderstand our customers and satisfy their needs, do what we say we are going to do and have fun.\xe2\x80\x9d

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations of the company and its subsidiaries while focusing on long-term goals for the company\xe2\x80\x99s growth.
• Manage and mentor junior personnel in the accounting Team.
• Supervise transaction-processing operations.
• Collaborate with external auditors as needed.
• Coordinate with colleagues to prepare the company\'s annual report.
• Assist with the annual budget and predict budget forecasts.
• Generate and ensure the accuracy of the organization\'s financial results and reports.
• Ensure that financial reports comply with current accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Publish complete and timely financial statements to company executives, shareholders, and the board.
• Perform business analysis to provide recommendations that support strategic company decisions.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal tax filings and reporting requirements.
• Ensure prompt collection of accounts receivable.
• Maintain a system of controls over all transactions.
• Work directly with CPA firm for tax preparation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in finance or accounting. Advanced degree and/or Professional Accreditation preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting. Combination of public and corporate experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP required.
• Innovation, team oriented, ability to work cross functionally, strong business acumen required.
• Experience with accounting software, specifically with Deltek Vision is a plus.
• Must have experience working in a fast paced, technically oriented environment.
