Responsibilities
- Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
- Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
- Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
- Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

Requirements

- Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
- Great attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
- Prior work done in public accounting is desired
- Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Earlier work involving Sales Tax
- Practical knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Good understanding of University Degree
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly preferred
- Solid understanding of journal entries
- Proficiency in JobBOSS
- Previous experience working with payroll for under 100 employees
- Demonstrated knowledge of CPA
- General familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
- Microsoft Excel experience preferred
- Background working with Sales Tax Returns
- Financial Statement experience
- Adeptness in Financial Statement
- Month end closings experience
- Payroll tax experience highly valued
