The Woodlands at Canterfield, a brand-new Assisted Living and Memory Support community located in West Dundee, Illinois is looking for a dynamic Cook to provide nutritious high quality food to support a truly great dining experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares food daily as outlined on menus utilizing standardized recipes
• Alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs
• Ensures proper plate presentation and garnish food in an attractive way
• Coordinates and participates in working the service line during meal times
• Monitors portion control
• Ensures work areas are clean and adhere to all sanitation guidelines
• Ensures all food items are properly stored and labeled and dated
• Build positive relationships with residents, associates and co-workers

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Residential/Commercial Cooking experience
• Food Handlers Certificate
• Energetic, professional with exceptional interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication & customer service skills
• Detailed oriented
• Team player
• Compassionate and understanding of eldercare
