GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to read and write in English, perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements, and follow written and oral instructions in English.

2. A minimum three years\' experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.

3. Understands basic cooking methods.

4. Ability to plan and organize work.

5. Ability to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.

6. Ability to work with others.

7. Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Working conditions involve noise.

2. Ability to stand 90% of working shift.

3. Requires light physical effort which involves frequent lifting of weight up to 50 pounds.

4. Standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing continuously.

5. Injuries are improbable and might involve minor cuts, abrasions, burns and bruises, etc.

6. Will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, greasy and wet floors.
