Mount Alverna Village, a part of Franciscan Ministries, is a vibrant senior living community in Parma, Ohio. Mount Alverna Village is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing/long-term care. Additionally, the onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and state-of-the-art programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares food daily as outlined on the menus. Alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs of residents or to improve recipes. Ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
• Coordinates and participates in serving food. Monitors portion control to meet residents requests and minimize waste. Maintains an accurate record of chargeable meals (resident, guest and catered). Submits record to the office by the designated date each month.
• Assists with menu planning; reviews and adjusts menus with Dietary Manager to accommodate foods in season, vendor sale prices, special events and holidays. Assists in identifying food and supplies needed for the next weeks menus and reports to the Dietary Manager. Prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery; ensures proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, safe and sanitary kitchen environment. Ensures proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control. Ensures compliance with regulations
• Assists in training other kitchen staff in food preparation.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Must be Serv-Safe Certified
