Coop Education Student Translational Research In Hearing Loss (zychen Research)

Co-Op position available at the Chen Lab at Mass Eye & Ear

Translational research laboratory focused on developing therapies for hearing loss

Student will work with research fellows with a variety of projects and perform/learn molecular biology techniques (including PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell and tissue culture, protein purification, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, sequencing, CRISPR-Cas9 and animal handling (husbandry, injections, dissections, hearing tests, surgeries)
Position also includes sharing some lab management duties: assisting with protocol applications/revisions, helping to manage the animal colony, and making shared lab solutions
Opportunity to conduct independent research (based on experience)
Must be able to work independently, well-organized, and meet deadlines
Experience for medical and/or graduate school

Qualifications

Degree in biological sciences desired, previous lab experience preferred
