What youll do:


Schedules, coordinates, and re-schedules patient appointments using EMR, SIS and other electronic systems as needed. Schedules surgeries, diagnostic tests, injections, and all other procedures for patients. Coordinates medical clearances for surgical patients, including follow-up to obtain all test results and scans into EMR as instructed. Queue and filter all open orders in EMR for assigned physicians and follows up to update status through completion in a timely manner. Notifies Physician Assistant or other designated clinician when medical clearance and test results have been received. Utilizes Phoenix to request and follow up on MRI prior authorization requests as needed. Utilizes Teams shared trackers to request prior authorization and follow up on any Surgery, Injection or MRI as needed. Verifies benefit information, obtains prior authorizations with insurance carriers. Works in coordination with billing department to confirm insurance coverage. Notifies Director, supervisor of any registration or insurance changes. Screens and directs calls to/for physicians and other departments via messaging in EMR. Answers patient questions regarding tests and procedures process. Screens, delivers, and responds to faxed requests. Assists to facilitate all forms for assigned physicians are completed. Scans all documents into EMR as needed. Updates and maintains physicians schedules. Assists with Document Management including scanning, faxing etc. as needed. Completes waivers, explanations, scheduling and pre-certifications for patient tests and/or procedures as required. Assists with patient referrals to outside services such as physical therapy and rehabilitation. Assists with any Registration/Check-out situations as needed. Assists with scheduling coverage for other physicians upon request. Complies with all HIPAA rules and regulations as instructed. Follows ONS policies and procedures. Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

Who you are:


High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or higher is preferred. Ability to use computerized systems and experience with Electronic Medical Records systems, especially GE Centricity. Minimum one-year experience in surgery or procedure scheduling in a medical practice. Must have ability to work well under pressure and use sound judgment consistently. Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be highly organized and comfortable providing excellent internal and external customer service.
