Description of Company:

For more than 100 years, Orchard Ridge Assisted Living has cared for seniors. We are a nonprofit and one of only a few assisted living\'s that have been awarded the Gold Excellence of Care by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare! Our team works cooperatively together to ensure all resident needs are met.

Days/Hours of Schedule: Thursday-Sunday 8am-6pm OR Part-Time noon-7pm (hours can be negotiable)

Pay: $18.00, plus $2/hr more on Saturday & Sunday

Duties for a Cook:

\xc2\xb7 Cook will assist with meal preparations to include but are not limited to the following:

\xc2\xb7 Cook Meals as directed by dietary supervisor

\xc2\xb7 Cook will prepare salads, side dishes, soups and deserts as well as alternate lunch salad plates

\xc2\xb7 Cook will clean the prep area

\xc2\xb7 Cook will wash pots, pans, and dishes from Memory Care

\xc2\xb7 Cook may need to assist with catered events and holiday meals

\xc2\xb7 Have a good understanding of portion control

\xc2\xb7 Other tasks as assigned

\xc2\xb7 Must be flexible and able to step into any position

\xc2\xb7 Meet customer service standards in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner

Minimum Qualifications for a Cook

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Must have Serv-Safe Certificate or acquire one within the first year of employment

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Previous prep and line cook experience a plus but not required, WE WILL TRAIN YOU!

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Advanced knowledge of industrial kitchen appliances a plus

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of basic diets, willing to learn when needed

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Ability to remain calm under stressful situations

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Effective and clear communications with residents, resident families and staff

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Must be able to pass criminal and drug background tests as required by Bureau of Licensing and corporate policies

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Must be able to work respectfully and compassionately with older adults
