About Our Team

The Corporate Communications team is responsible for managing, promoting and protecting the company\xe2\x80\x99s reputation as well as bringing the company to life across owned and earned channels. We play a critical role in eBay\xe2\x80\x99s strategy, positioning the company as a global leader in the commerce evolution. One of our primary areas of focus has been to protect eBay\xe2\x80\x99s reputation through issues management, promoting eBay\xe2\x80\x99s business strategy, and bringing the company\xe2\x80\x99s Purpose to life. As a Corporate Communications Specialist, you will help support eBay\xe2\x80\x99s business critical communications, including financial communications, strategic investments and partnerships, and issues management. You will also support eBay\xe2\x80\x99s human interest storytelling, elevating the exceptional sellers and entrepreneurs who are building their business on eBay. This role will report to the Lead Manager, Corporate Communications and will collaborate closely with other Communications team members as well as a broad range of internal partners.

This position will join a distributed team that works to creatively and effectively shape eBay\xe2\x80\x99s narrative to support key business priorities and strategies. The individual will be counted on to work collaboratively within eBay\xe2\x80\x99s matrixed organization and to help provide critical thinking, strategy and seamless execution to the corporate communications function.

About The Job

This role will support eBay\xe2\x80\x99s business critical communications and human interest storytelling. This role will also support overall corporate communications efforts including proactive storytelling, speaking engagements and awards, media monitoring and reporting, and measurement.

This person will also play a critical role in supporting team operations.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of previous experience, either in-house or at a PR agency.

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone who is a nimble and creative storyteller, has a penchant for cross-team collaboration, a proactive and energetic posture, impeccable judgment and writing capabilities, acts with a sense of urgency and the ability to weave seamlessly between a wide range of topics.

Success in this role entails:

Working closely with cross-functional team members across the Communications team and the broader eBay organization.

Ideating and executing on compelling communications activations from start to finish, including: working with internal teams to source stories; developing written materials including communications plans, messaging, talk tracks, FAQs, external materials (press releases, statements, blogs, op-eds, presentations), briefing documents, scripts, etc; and leveraging media relationships to elevate eBay\xe2\x80\x99s brand and reputation.

Fostering relationships with key media and acting as an effective company spokesperson.

Media training and prepping leaders and placing executive profiles, bylines and high-level speaking ops that further our company narrative.

Supporting eBay events by working with executives and business partners for messaging, presentation and on-site event support.

About You

The ideal candidate has:

3-5 years of relevant PR experience.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below. $73,600 - $114,400

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
