Job Description


The Corporate Dietitian\xe2\x80\x99s primary purpose is to provide direction and support to each community\xe2\x80\x99s Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietary Manager within the organization by helping to ensure the communities are implementing industry best practices, following dietary regulations including federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standards. The Corporate Dietitian will implement, lead, and maintain processes, conduct audits, and approve recipes and menus to maximize the nutrition program\xe2\x80\x99s clinical and operational performance.

  • Establish Quality Measures as it relates to nutritional therapy and food service for the organization.
  • Assist community Registered Dietitians and Certified Dietary Managers in meeting the established Quality Measures.
  • Understand and validate the organization\xe2\x80\x99s nutrition standards and Quality Indicators
  • Coordinate with the regional and community teams to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Responsible for community visitation and documentation requirements.
  • Direct and/or coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of:
  • Diet manual
  • Menus, recipes, and diet extensions
  • Dietary capital equipment
  • Dietary Quality Indicators
  • Review and analyze each community\xe2\x80\x99s Registered Dietitian\xe2\x80\x99s reports, Quality Assurance, and survey results. Recommend intervention and follow up as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance of National and Regional food vendors and manufacturer programs.
  • Interview and hire Community Registered Dietitians and Certified Dietary Managers in collaboration with operations and community administration.
  • Communicate issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to community leadership including the Executive Director and Registered Dietitian and/or Certified Dietary Manager, as well as corporate dining leadership including the Director of Culinary and Corporate Chef.
  • Monitor and validate nutritional systems for the organization.
  • Provide training to community Registered Dietitians and Certified Dietary Managers throughout the organization as indicated by Quality Indicators, changes in regulations, and community visits.
  • Participate in pre-survey community visits, conduct community preparation surveys, and participate in the long-term care, state survey process.
  • Stay informed of federal and state regulations for long-term care, dietetic registration/licensure, and food safety, and communicate appropriate updates to the teams and organization.
  • Monitor and incorporate industry trends, new products, current research, and new programs in clinical nutrition therapy and food service as needed.
  • Evaluate the current food production operations and method of service in each community and makes appropriate and effective recommendations to the Executive Director, on-site Registered Dietitian, Director of Nursing, Corporate Chef, and Director of Culinary, to improve services provided to residents.
  • Create policies and procedures as it relates to clinical nutrition and food service.
Pay range 95-110K depending on experience and location. This position can be based in the greater areas of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas or Phoenix.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field required. Masters preferred
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Dietetics and Nutrition
  • 7+ years of experience in a long term care environment or geriatric nutrition
  • Multi-unit leadership preferred
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to travel up to 33% of the time
