About us:

Southwest Colorado Community Corrections Center - Hilltop House has a long history of supporting offenders transitioning through the criminal justice system in Durango. We are a 54 bed residential facility and offer on-site substance abuse testing and case management services to residents and clients in the community. We work to provide services to our residents that is grounded in evidence and shown to improve and impact them in positive ways. We hope you will consider joining our team.

Hilltop House is seeking full time and part-time Corrections Technicians. Starting Pay is $18 per hour and 5% shift differential pay for working overnight shifts. The shift we are hiring for is primarily evening and overnight shifts. The shift times are 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. For each shift, staff are eligible for one free meal per shift--and our kitchen team is fabulous!

The Correction Technician's role provides for the care, custody and monitoring of residents and establishes a safe environment for staff, visitors and clientele.

Basic Job responsibilities:

Perform observed urinalysis on clients
Basic Computer skills, writing reports and other documentation, answering phones, and transferring calls
Facility and individual searches
Phone verifications/monitoring of clients
Interacting with clients and the public. Customer service skills a must.
Miscellaneous tasks required to run a 24/7 facility.
Requirements:

Must have High School Diploma/GED and at least be 21 years of age and be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Must not be on any kind of supervision for a criminal charge.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and/or in writing and apply problem solving techniques.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Have an open and flexible schedule
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
