\xc2\xb7 ? Alaska Certification \xe2\x80\x93 Type A or ability to receive a Type M Alaska Teaching Certificate

Duties and Responsibilities: A classroom teacher performs under the general direction of the site administrator or program manager and with assistance from appropriate staff personnel. A classroom teacher fosters and enhances an effective learning environment; establishes and adapts learning objectives and standards for regular and special education students based upon general Chatham School District guidelines and the rules and regulations governing special education; provides instruction, counsels, disciplines, and supervises to meet the individual needs of assigned students; and, to evaluate student performance and progress. This position will be working with students on trades and learning skills to help them in careers after high school.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 ? Knowledge and experience with RTI preferable

\xc2\xb7 ? Knowledge of multiple teaching strategies for diverse students

\xc2\xb7 ? Committed to excellence

\xc2\xb7 ? Strong willingness to be a learner, leader and motivator

\xc2\xb7 ? Strong interpersonal skills including collegiality and collaboration

\xc2\xb7 ? Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles

\xc2\xb7 ? Knowledge of subject matter

\xc2\xb7 ? Knowledge of assessments

\xc2\xb7 ? Ability and willingness to implement Chatham School District Instructional Guidelines and Best Practices

\xc2\xb7 ? Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data

\xc2\xb7 ? Use student assessment data to guide instruction

\xc2\xb7 ? Ability and willingness to reflect and improve instructional practices

\xc2\xb7 ? Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents and community
