Customs Compliance Specialist

Maxxis International, the U.S. division of a global tire manufacturer, has a challenging opportunity for a Customs Compliance Specialist in Suwanee, GA. This is an outstanding career opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the supply chain industry, possesses knowledge of U.S. and international customs regulations, and has excellent computer skills, as well as solid verbal and written communications skills. A detail-oriented individual with strong knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:


Ensure all import and export operations adhere to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade laws Stay updated with changes in customs regulations and communicate necessary adjustments to relevant departments Prepare and review import/export documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and certificates of origin Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate clearance of shipments Resolve any issues related to customs clearance, including tariff classification, valuation, and duty payments Conduct regular audits of customs entries to ensure compliance and accuracy with ISA Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., logistics, procurement, sales) and external partners (e.g., freight forwarders, suppliers) to resolve customs-related issues In-depth knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, HTS classification, import/export procedures, USMCA, FTZ/Bonded regulations, ACE portal usage and familiarity with CTPAT program

Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and a self-motivator. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or customs compliance software such as GTS

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in international business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required 3+ years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, or logistics required Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders required Fluent in Mandarin preferred
