We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Database Engineer to join our dynamic team in support of critical intelligence community initiatives in Annapolis Junction, MD. As a Database Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database solutions that underpin mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities:

Database Design and Development:

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance database solutions tailored to the unique requirements of intelligence community projects.
• Collaborate with system architects and developers to ensure seamless integration of databases into larger systems.

Data Modeling and Optimization:

• Perform advanced data modeling to optimize database structures for performance, efficiency, and data integrity.
• Implement and fine-tune indexing strategies to enhance query performance and overall system responsiveness.

Database Administration:

• Conduct regular database performance monitoring and tuning to proactively address potential issues.
• Manage database security, access controls, and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Provide expert-level support for database-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve challenges promptly.
• Conduct root cause analysis for complex database problems and implement effective solutions.

Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team through the creation of guides and training materials.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Database Engineering.
• Proven expertise in database design, development, and administration, with a focus on performance optimization.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies and NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
