We are seeking a detail=oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our dealership's accounting department. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial transactions, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure the dealership's financial operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Telephone Responsibilities:
Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process vendor invoices, track payments, and ensure timely payments are made. Follow up on outstanding accounts receivables and maintain accurate customer payment records.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger entries, including journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accurate data for management review.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records, ensuring all documentation is filed in accordance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
Inventory Management:
Assist with inventory accounting processes, including reconciling inventory records with actual stock on hand.
Customer and Vendor Communication:
Provide excellent service to customers and vendors by addressing inquiries related to billing c payments, and accounts.
Title Clerk Duties:
Ensure accurate completion of title and registration documents in compliance with state regulation, coordinating with state and local agencies to process title transfers and resolve any discrepancies. Track and update title status and work with customers to resolve any title-related issues.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Reynolds and Reynolds, CDK, or similar systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong attention to detail. with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Knowledge of dealership accounting principles and practices is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when handling records or supplies.
