Hiring Range: $9,160 - $10,311 per month

About the Position
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Community Development Department Deputy Director to assist in overseeing and coordinating the programs and operations of our division. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team, ensuring the successful implementation of current and long-range planning initiatives, historic preservation efforts, and development review processes. Your primary focus will be to support delivering timely and high-quality development review, as well as staff supervision, policy development, and supporting the Community Development Director. Additionally, you will assist in aligning the department\'s activities with the City Council\'s Strategic Plan, Comprehensive Plan, and other relevant plans. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, applied skills in development review, extensive knowledge of urban planning principles, and excellent communication abilities.

The Community Development Department works to guide and promote development that is vibrant, safe, provides a healthy lifestyle, and has a broad and balanced range of land uses. The department includes current planning, long range planning, historic preservation, housing, mobility and sustainability functions. The department works to implement the city\'s adopted and the City Council\'s strategic priorities.
