: Orange Beach City Schools' Development Coordinator - Performance Contract
Position Overview
:
The Development Coordinator is a dynamic and strategic leader responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising and community engagement strategies that support the mission and goals of Orange Beach City systems and its auxiliary partners. This role focuses on cultivating relationships with alumni, parents, local businesses, community leaders, and other key stakeholders to secure resources that enhance educational programs, facilities, and student opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
:
Support
:
+ Provide resources for the Makos Academics, Arts, and Athletics Club (MAAAC)
+ Serve as an executive secretary to the MAAAC
Fundraising Strategy & Campaign Management
:
+ Develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies and campaigns that align with the system's mission and strategic goals
+ Lead and manage capital campaigns, annual giving programs, special events, and grant initiatives
+ Establish measurable objectives for fundraising activities and regularly assess campaign performance against these goals
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
:
+ Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, including alumni, parents, local businesses, and foundations
+ Implement donor recognition and stewardship programs to ensure ongoing support and engagement
+ Organize and lead donor events, meetings, and outreach activities to build lasting relationships
Community and Alumni Engagement
:
+ Serve as the primary liaison between the system and its community, including alum networks and local organizations
+ Collaborate with system leadership to identify key priorities for development efforts and create targeted outreach initiatives
+ Leverage community resources and partnerships to support system initiatives and enhance development
+ Communication & Marketing:
+ Communicate a compelling message and materials that effectively communicate the system's impact and fundraising needs
+ Managed developing and distributing newsletters, social media content, and other outreach materials to keep stakeholders informed and engaged
Data Management & Reporting
:
+ Oversee the maintenance and utilization of donor databases and fundraising software
+ Monitor fundraising progress, analyze data trends, and prepare regular reports for the system administration and Board of Education
+ Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and institutional fundraising and donor relations guidelines
Budget & Financial Oversight
:
+ Develop and manage the development department budget
+ Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tracking of donations, grants, and other revenue sources related to development activities
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
A minimum of 5 years experience in fundraising, development, or related roles, ideally within an educational or nonprofit environment
Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and donor relationship management
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in
+ Google Apps and or Microsoft Office
+ Graphic and Video Design, photo editing, advertising and marketing software Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including system leadership, faculty, alums, and community partners
A passion for education and a commitment to enhancing the opportunities available to our students
Working Conditions
:
Primarily office-based with regular attendance at system events, community functions, and donor meetings
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required to support fundraising events and campaigns
Compensation and Benefits
:
Performance Based Contract of $40,000 annually (1099 From Per Contracted Employee)
Commission Rate of 5% on all new sponsorships and 1.5% on all renewals
Office Hours
Three days per week (TBD)
+ 30 hours per week (average)
+ Seasonal activities and events not included within the weekly hours
