Develops nutritional care plans in order to ensure individual patient nutritional needs are met.
Completes follow-up to patient care plans as established in the Nutrition Care Plan in order to meet The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
Create nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of patients.
Analyzes the patients health status, goals, and dietary restrictions, tracks the patients dietary intake and progress and educating patients on how to maintain a balanced diet.
Consults to patients, families, and treatment team regarding nutrition needs
Writes appropriate nutrition related recommendations in the medical record
Approves patients menus and provides this information to the Food Services Director
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with BS in Dietetics and or Nutrition
Must be Registered Dietician (RD) with the National Academy of Nutrition & DieteticsLicensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners
Possess valid Texas drivers license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Dietician
Must possess excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with Physicians, staff, patients, and patients family
American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification and Heimlich and the ability to perform these techniques correctly and safely according to the specifications of the American Heart Association.
