Sodexo is seeking a full time Registered Dietitian for HCA Mountainview Hospital located in Las Vegas, Nevada to join their dynamic team. This is a state-of-the-art, full-service medical facility located in the heart of Northwest Las Vegas, one of the fastest growing areas in the valley.

Mountainview is a 485-bed and growing acute-care teaching hospital; including Mother Baby, NICU, & Rehabilitation and is also a member of the respected Sunrise Health System, consisting of Sunrise Hospital, Sunrise Children\xe2\x80\x99s Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital and several surgery, diagnostic imaging and urgent care centers.

The ideal candidate will report to the Clinical Nutrition Manager and will:
  • Be responsible for providing nutritional care, including comprehensive nutrition assessments, appropriate interventions and interdisciplinary care planning for a variety of inpatients;
  • educate healthcare team member, including physicians and nurses;
  • precept dietetic interns;
  • perform quality improvement initiatives such as patient satisfaction rounds and monthly test trays.

Position Summary

Provides and directs specialized nutrition care for patients, residents, and the community in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Functions as a nutrition expert to assigned patient care areas/service lines, peers, and foodservice operations to ensure the provision of safe, high quality care. Provides professional oversight for developing competent and proficient practitioners and may function as a Lead providing supervision to clinical nutrition and/or patient foodservice staff. Maintains professional and business practices to assure regulatory compliance and to uphold company mission, values, and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement. Contributes to financial and clinical outcomes through implementation of services.

Executes and directs the Nutrition Care Process (assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation) for specialized clinical practice in one or more areas of specialty; is accountable for the provision of safe and reliable care and services and completion of documentation in accordance with individual and statutory scope, regulatory standards and facility policies, protocols and practice guidelines, including clinical privileges. - 35%

Provides evidence-based nutrition counseling and training to meet specialized clinical needs, promote disease management and available treatment modalities, educate healthcare personnel, interns and students on nutrition care strategies and support foodservice staff competency; customizes content and learning strategies to address unique and complex situations and initiates referrals as needed to elevate care, support continuation of nutrition care plans or elevate educational processes. - 20%

Performs an integral role in interprofessional activities advancing the role of nutrition and overall management of care for specialized practice; performs an integral role in collaborations and communications with clinical and culinary departments in the development, application and promotion of operating standards, tools, resources and programs for specialized clinical practice and foodservice operations in accordance with Sodexo standards; contributes to the development of interdisciplinary policies and protocols. - 15%

Develops and conducts performance improvement (PI) activities with input from peers and colleagues; may participate in research initiatives; analyzes data to draw comparisons to performance goals and to make sound recommendations to promote continuous improvement. 15%

Continually enhances performance and demonstrates professional growth in area(s) of expertise by advancing nutrition-related knowledge and skills and participating in the provision of engagement and continuing education activities for other nutrition and healthcare professionals. - 15%

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement: Bachelor\'s degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) (Note: For those seeking registration after 2023, this must be a master\xe2\x80\x99s degree)

Basic Management Experience: 7+ months general supervision

Basic Functional Experience: 3 years experienced specialized practitioner in a clinical specialty

Credentials Requirement:
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR);
  • certification/ licensure as required by state(s) of practice; specialty credential in area(s) of focused practice, as applicable
