The Director, Interior Design is responsible for the development and implementation of all phases of interior design and project planning for all new and renovated spaces within the JFK Medical Center. This encompasses 14 building to date totaling 1,000,000 sq ft. Inclusive in this development is the review of spatial requirements, analysis and development of new space furniture and finish selections, cost analysis, presentations of interior selections as required to Board of Directors, Sr. Management, department heads, staff, community groups, as needed. Coordination of project planning with in house corporate facilities as well as consulting architects and outside contractors.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Director, Interior Design at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Space analysis
  • Planning and developing of department and space efficiencies.
  • Selection of furniture and furnishings.
  • Presentation of all drawings using AutoCad Architecture 2016.
  • Cost analysis
  • Contract management
  • Order procurement of furniture and furnishings.
  • Coordination of contract scheduling
  • Supervision of installations.
  • Review of new product lines, evaluating options to maintain cost effective selections for each facility.
  • Review and tracking of day to day furniture and finish orders not related to specific projects.
  • Update review and selection of finish standards and selections.
  • Management and coordination of approved capital budget expenditures for furniture and furnishings/finishes.
  • Coordination with Foundation/Auxillary to secure funding sources by providing support for donor recognition and defining project components which can generate donations.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Interior Design
  • Minimum of 10 years related facilities management and design planning in healthcare or related corporate facilities.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Autocad Architecture 2016
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Certified Interior Design.
