Position DescriptionJoin the Zane State College FacultyThis Full Time Faculty position will serve as facilitators of student learning. Faculty enhance the learning process through educational and discipline specific professional development activities. Faculty advance the institution through participation in college, professional and community activities.The Director of Clinical Education/Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education is effective in clinical teaching and mentoring and in developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education program.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFACILITATOR OF STUDENT LEARNING:
The teaching and learning process is a partnership promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience between teacher and student. This process provides meaningful learning experiences enabling learners to develop their ability to solve problems, think critically and creatively, and communicate effectively while developing marketable technical skills.
Faculty do this by:

• Providing instruction
• Developing and revising curriculum
• Providing a safe and inviting learning environment
• Providing student evaluation and feedback in a timely manner
• Participating in the assessment of student learning through program assessment
• Maintaining accurate records
• Using appropriate learner-centered instructional methods
• Keeping current with the use of appropriate technology
• Integrating the principles of workplace values in the learning environment
• Maintaining equipment and materials in the learning environment
• Preparing and distributing course syllabi
• Scheduling and maintaining adequate office hours

Clinical Education Duties:

• Clinical teaching and mentoring to clinical faculty
• Planning, developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education program
• Using organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills
• Communicating information about clinical education with core faculty, clinical education sites, clinical education faculty (SCCEs and CIs), and students
• Assigning students to clinical education experiences
• Ensuring supervision and feedback provided to students is appropriate for each student in each clinical education experience
• Informing students and clinical faculty in the nondiscrimination policies of the program and to monitor compliance with these policies during clinical education experiences

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH:

• Exploring innovative teaching, learning, and technology practices, and
• Creating, implementing, and evaluating an annual, individualized plan detailing goals for growth in collaboration with the Division Dean.

• Professional organizations, and
• The community

QualificationsQualifications include all of the following:

• Holds an active, unencumbered PT license in any United States jurisdiction and is in compliance with the practice act in the jurisdiction of Ohio
• Has a minimum of three years of full-time, post licensure clinical practice
• Two years of clinical practice experience must include experience as a site coordinator of clinical education or clinical instructor OR two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapy education program
