Director of Emergency Preparedness

This position is hired contingent upon award of contract.

Mountain Pacific is seeking a full-time Director of Emergency Preparedness to support the Health Quality Solutions Division. This position shall ensure that providers have a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness plan in place to include, but not limited to: Executive responsibility for the plan, localization to mitigate hazards common to their region, pandemic response, cybersecurity response, coordination with state and local emergency management services, plans to mitigate the effects of climate change on the facility and for the patients served, and scheduling of regular drills.

Public health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic and frequent weather extremes have shed light on the strain that national or regional public health emergencies put on our health system and on communities nationwide. Planning and preparedness are essential to safeguarding the public as well as healthcare and public health personnel. The Director of Emergency Preparedness will be the leading expert across the region to prepare service providers for public health emergencies. The Director shall advise and support internal and external team members and providers in preparing flexible, adaptable teams. This position shall facilitate cross-setting collaboration and leverage community and leadership engagement to address challenges such as supply chain and workforce issues.

The successful candidate will be skillful in engaging community partners through building relationships with strategic partners. Must live in the required region (AZ, CA, HI, NV, and Pacific Island Territories). A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in emergency management, criminal justice, business, public safety, public administration, or related field and have at least eight year(s) of experience in safety, emergency management and/or related field in a healthcare setting preferred or equivalent experience & education. Incident Management Team Certifications preferred and knowledge of federal and State emergency management frameworks (NIMS, ICS). Travel will be required for this position around 10%-20%; targeted compensation for this position is $86,000-$135,000 a year.
